Glabrous, rhizomatous dwarf shrubs. Leaves green, coriaceous, alternate or pseudoverticillate, mostly cauline. Flowers in terminal corymbs or umbels. Anthers opening by pores at the end of short tubes. Pollen-grains in tetrads.
