Stem (5-) 15-30 cm. Leaves 3-5 x 2-5 cm, ovate to orbicular, obtuse, crenulate; petiole shorter than or equalling lamina. Bracts ovate to lanceolate, acuminate, about equalling or longer than pedicels. Flowers 7-10 mm in diameter, globose. Calyx-lobes c. 2- 5 mm, triangular-ovate, obtuse or subacute. Petals white or pink. Anthers c. 2- 5 mm. Style 4-6 mm, expanded into a disc below the stigma, exserted, straight. 2/7 = 92. Woods, moors and heaths. N. & C.
