Sect. SERPYLLUM (Miller) Bentham. Small shrubs or perennial herbs. Stems usually herbaceous or woody at the base, hairy all round or on 2 opposite sides, rarely on the angles only. Leaves not tomentose or velutinous; margins usually more or less flat. Bracts more or less similar to the leaves. Calyx more or less campanulate.
