Procumbent, sparsely hispid perennial 20-80 cm. Leaves 25-60 x 6-12 mm,

linear-oblong to oblanceolate, obtuse, cuneate at base, crenate-dentate, sparsely villous-lanate. Verticillasters 6- to 10-fiowered, distant. Calyx 8-12 mm, densely villous and with sessile glands; teeth as long as or slightly shorter than tube. Corolla 15-18 mm, reddish-purple, pubescent; upper lip 6-8 mm, 2-fid; lower lip 7-8 mm. Sandy ground near the sea. Italy and Sicilia.?Hs It Si. (A. Africa.)
