Rigidly erect. Leaves narrowly to rather broadly lanceolate. Calyx-tube more or less evenly covered with deflexed hooked hairs; calyx usually not appressed when deflexed in fruit. Nutlets broadest at or below the middle, with furrow in the middle. 2/7 = 44. Throughout the range o f the species.
