Type locality. "A muddy roarside ditch … located between Guru Nanak Engineering College, Ludhiana and village Gill", Ludhiana , Punjab, India ( Battish 1981) .

Indian records. Punjab — Battish (1981); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).

Remarks. Valid species that needs to be redescribed ( Kotov & Štifter 2006).

Distribution. Known only from India ( Battish 1981) and Thailand (Kotov, unpublished).

Ilyocryptus halyi Brady, 1886

Indian records. Maghalaya— Biswas (1980); Rajasthan and West Bengal — Biswas (1971); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).

Remarks. It was described from Sri Lanka ( Brady 1886). Junior synonym of I. spinifer Herrick, 1882 ( Kotov & Dumont 2000; Kotov & Stifter 2006).
