Types. Male holotype from Lago Iripixi , Oriximiná, Pará, Brazil [01°46’S, 55°50’W], 19. VI GoogleMaps .2011, E.L.C. Silva ( MCTP 33353 View Materials ). Paratype: one female, same data and collector as holotype ( MCTP 33354 View Materials ) GoogleMaps .
Etymology. The specific name is a noun and refers to the type locality.
Diagnosis. The males of T. oriximina sp. nov. resemble those of T. annulipes ( Fig. 52) in the projected apex of the median apophysis, but can be distinguished by the rounded apex of the median apophysis ( Fig. 152) and by the longer and acute tip of the ental branch of RTA ( Fig. 153). The females resemble those of T. senilis ( Fig. 26) in the anterior projection on the middle field of the epigynum ( Fig. 154), but can be distinguished by the undulated trajectory of the copulatory ducts and by the small base of the spermathecae ( Fig. 155).
Description. Male (Holotype, Oriximiná, Pará, Brazil, MCTP 33353). Total length 10.37. Carapace 4.64 long, 4.56 wide, light brown with long dark brown bristles laterally; fovea marked. Clypeus light brown, dark brown laterally, 0.62 high. Anterior eye row procurved, 0.98 wide ( Fig. 24); posterior recurved, 1.76 wide. Eye diameters, interdistances, and median ocular quadrangle: AME 0.22, ALE 0.16, PME 0.26, PLE 0.30; AME-AME 0.16, AME- ALE 0.14, PME-PME 0.38, PME-PLE 0.36, OQA 0.56, OQP 0.78, OQH 0.66. Chelicerae dark brown, laterally depressed; with a lateral tuft of white bristles ( Fig. 24). Sternum yellow, with scattered bristles; 1.90 long, 1.99 wide. Labium dark brown, 0.68 long, 0.74 wide. Legs light brown, with long dark brown bristles on coxae of legs I and II; relative length: IV-I-II-III, I—femur 7.47/ patella-tibia 10.64/ metatarsus 6.38/ tarsus 2.66/ total 27.15; II—8.11/ 9.97/ 5.58/ 2.79/ 26.45; III—6.65/ 7.31/ 5.05/ 2.26/ 21.27; IV—8.64/ 9.44/ 6.65/ 3.19/ 27.92. Ventral pairs of macrosetae on tibiae: I-4; II-4; III-3; IV-4. Abdomen 4.98 long, dark gray with two pair of sigillae, white spots laterally. Venter light gray, with scattered bristles. Palpus with a prolaterally curved median apophysis, with a blunt apex ( Fig. 152). Ental branch of RTA elongated and with a lamellar and sulcated at the base ( Fig. 153).
Female (Paratype, Napo Province, Ecuador, MCTP 33354). Total length 7.71. Carapace 4.48 long, 4.23 wide, colour as in male ( Figs 7, 8). Clypeus yellow, 0.44 high. Anterior eye row procurved, 1.00 wide; posterior recurved, 1.70 wide. Eye diameters, interdistances, and median ocular quadrangle: AME 0.20, ALE 0.12, PME 0.26, PLE 0.32; AME-AME 0.18, AME-ALE 0.14, PME-PME 0.30, PME-PLE 0.36, OQA 0.54, OQP 0.80, OQH 0.58. Chelicerae light brown, with scattered bristles. Sternum yellow, with scattered bristles, 2.07 long, 2.24 wide. Labium as in male, 0.74 long, 0.83 wide. Legs yellow, unmarked; relative length: IV-I-II-III, I—femur 6.05/ patella-tibia 8.13/ metatarsus 5.39/ tarsus 2.49/ total 22.06; II—6.10/ 8.05/ 5.31/ 2.57/ 22.03; III—5.22/ 6.55/ 4.31/ 1.66/ 17.74; IV—6.30/ 8.04/ 5.64/ 2.65/ 22.63. Ventral pairs of macrosetae on tibiae: I-4; II-4; III-3; IV-4. Abdomen 4.56 long, colour as in male. Epigynum with a slightly deep lateral excavation ( Fig. 154). Copulatory ducts enlarged and with an undulated trajectory ( Fig. 155); head of spermathecae not conspicuous in dorsal view ( Fig. 155).
Natural history. Spiders were collected in tree trunks or on the vegetation near the margins of large rivers in Oriximiná, Pará, northern Brazil (Silva pers. obs.) ( Fig. 7).
