Description. Male. Body small and slender. Head rather short, frontal rostrum nearly as wide as scapus; median ocellus small and transverse oval, lateral ocelli rather large and nearly round; eyes oval and distinctly projecting; apical joint of maxillary palpus distinctly widened and sloped at apex, slightly longer than third joint; apical joint of labial palpus slightly widened, slightly longer than second joint. Pronotum distinctly wider than long, disc with a pair of nearly triangular impressions; anterior margin straight, posterior margin sinuate and slightly protruding around midway; lateral lobes longer than high, anterior lower angles widely rounded, posterior lower angles narrowly rounded, lower margin slightly sinuate. Tegmina slightly extending over apex of abdomen, with 4 longitudinal veins on dorsal area; hind wings distinctly longer than tegmina. Fore tibia with a large and oblong internal tympanum, slightly shorter half length of tibia, without external tympanum. Hind tibia with 3 long spines along either margin of apical part of dorsal side, and several small spines on basal part, of which 5 along outer margin and 4 along inner margin. Abdominal tergite I with a pair of indistinct swellings, II with a small swelling in centre and inclined forwards ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ).
Supra-anal plate distinctly wider than long, distinctly narrowed posteriorly; dorsal area densely covered with short setae area in centre; posterior margin nearly rounded ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ). Subgenital plate very short, distinctly narrowed posteriorly, posterior margin nearly rounded ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ). Genitalia ( Figs 24–26 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ) very small, and nearly as long as wide; epiphallus with a pair of large acute teeth at bases; lateral lobes of epiphallus not reaching posterior margin of epiphallus, and inner margin with a acute teeth.
Female. Unknown.
Coloration. Body brown. Tegmina light brown, each transverse vein surrounded by a small irregular brown spot. Fore and mid femora yellow at apices, other part and hind legs brown.
Measurements (mm). Male: body 7.8, length with wings 11.8, pronotum 1.3, tegmen 6.5, hind femur 5.8.
Type material examined. Holotype ♂, CHINA, Hainan, Ledong, Jianfengling, 25.V.2010, leg. Ming Qiu.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Diagnosis. This new species is related to P. multicapillus Liu & Shi , but can be distinguished by posterior margin of supra-anal plate nearly round; ventral parts of the genitalia without long and black setae, lateral lobes of epiphallus not bent upwards.
Etymology. This new specific name is derived from the Latin parvulus (small), a reference to genitalia rather small.
