The species occurs exclusively in the Nearctic region being known from Canada and central and northern USA (southwards to Colorado and North Carolina) ( Townes & Townes 1960: 390). This species is probably a parasitoid of wood borers in both hardwoods and conifers ( Carlson 1979: 352).
Distribution. Nearctic species; unknown from Mexico.
