[ Belchera rosea queenslandica Mathews ]

Belchera rosea queenslandica Mathews, 1916a: 59 (North Queensland).

Now Petroica rosea Gould, 1840 View in CoL . See Mayr, 1986d: 566, and Schodde and Mason, 1999: 380–381.

Mathews, in the original description, said that the type was from North Queensland. There are no Queensland specimens of P. rosea View in CoL in AMNH, and the species has not been found in northern Queensland ( Schodde and Mason, 1999: 380). Later, Mathews (1920a: 112) cited observations by S.A. White of this species in the Bunya Mountains, but these are in southern Queensland.
