HOLOTYPE: AMNH 605900 , adult male, collected at Tepa , 07.52S, 129.35E (Times Atlas), Babar Island , Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia, on 6 September 1905, by Heinrich Kühn (no. 6864). From the Rothschild Collection.

COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert gave the unique field number of the holotype and listed his type series of five males and one female, including the holotype. The paratypes are: AMNH 605901– 605905. AMNH 605899, collected by Kühn in May 1906, was not included in the list and is not a paratype.
