COMMENTS: Hartert had a single specimen for description. Dickinson et al. (1991: 342) noted that the specimen is a young bird and that Pseudotharrhaleus griseipectus Mearns, 1909 is a synonym. Dickinson (personal commun.) wrote me that W. Goodfellow was listed in error in Dickinson et al. (1991: 341) as the collector of this holotype.
