Type series. Holotype female labelled: “ BOSNIA & HERCEGOVINA, Nevesinje , Bišina village env., Novakuša (Novakova) pećina cave, traps, 12.VI.–26.IX.2004, D.Čeplík, G.Dunay & R. Diagnosis. A medium-sized trechine beetle with aphaenopsoid features: head and pronotum elongate; elytra ovoid, strongly narrowed at the base, obviously wider than head and pronotum; body depigmented, strongly flattened ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ). This new species is mainly characterized by very wide, rounded head and elytra distinctly narrowed posteriorly.

Description. L: 5.5 mm, TL: 4.75 mm. Head large, rounded, with maximum width in middle, slightly longer than wide (index HL/HW 1.18), slightly narrower than pronotum, densely pubescent. Frontal furrows deep, almost parallel, ending at half of head length. Two pairs of short supraorbital setae present, situated near median line of head; neck constriction distinct; genae convex. Clypeus and labrum with three pairs of setae, outer pairs longer. Antennae length 3.3 mm, scape as long as pedicel, shorter than terminal antennomere.

Pronotum elongate, slightly narrower and longer than head, with maximum width behind anterior third, basal part distinctly narrower than anterior (index PL/PW 1.38), densely pubescent, setae long, suberect; median furrow weakly marked, visible in whole length of pronotum. Propleura not visible. Anterior angles of pronotum distinctly protruding, acute, posterior angles obtuse. Lateral furrows developed, deep, with one pair of anterolateral setae, situated in apical fifth of pronotal length.

Elytra subovate elongate, distinctly longer than wide (index EL/EW 1.78), with maximum width in middle, distinctly narrowed posteriorly; elytral surface covered with dense, short and erect pubescence; striae absent. Site of stria 3 with three (two discal and one preapical) setae, humeral group of umbilicate pores not aggregated, first anterior pore of humeral group isolated and situated before the level of the first discal seta.

Legs long, slender, densely pubescent.

Female genitalia: as on Fig. 34 View FIGURES 31 – 36 .

Male unknown.

Etymology. Patronymic, dedicated to our dear friend and colleague Jasminko Mulaomerović (Centre for Karst and Speleology Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina) a well-known biospeleologist (the member of IUCN SSC Bat Specialist Group), archeologist, geographer and palaeontologist for his various kinds of help during our biospeleological expeditions to Bosnia & Hercegovina especially in surroundings of Sarajevo.

Topographic location and ecology. Novakova pećina cave is situated near the village Bišina (980 m a.s.l.), close to the road Nevesinje-Mostar, 2 km W from Nevesinje, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Entrance of the cave is located in the northern margin of giant ellipse-shaped sinkhole (ca 60 x 100m), the remains of a crashed gigantic limestone cavern ( Figs. 40 View FIGURE 40 , 41 View FIGURE 41 ). Single cave is created by fissure hall, 3–5 meters wide, with total length of ca 20 meters . Holotype specimen was collected by trap, baited with meat and cheese, deposited from June to September 2004. After this finding, authors (RL, JL, DČ) visited this cave three times, but no another Adriaphaenops specimen was found.

Distribution. so far known only from the type locality, Novakova pećina cave near village Bišina, Nevesinje, Bosnia & Hercegovina. This cave is also the type locality for other subterranean Coleoptera , namely Anthroherpon ganglbaueri ganglbaueri (Apfelbeck, 1894) and Pholeuonopsis (Pholeuonopsis) grabowskii grabowskii Apfelbeck, 1907 ( Leiodidae, Leptodirini ).
