Melissodes (Heliomelissodes) desponsus Smith, 1854 View in CoL View at ENA
Counties: Becker, Benton, Brown, Chisago, Clearwater, Cottonwood, Dakota, Douglas, Faribault, Freeborn, Hennepin, Houston, Jackson, Lyon, Martin, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Murray, Nobles, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Pope, Ramsey, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Scott, Stearns, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan.
Comments: Both M. desponsus and M. rivalis occur in Minnesota, and the supposedly diagnostic characters reported by LaBerge (1956b) are not reliable in separating them. More taxonomic work is needed on these two species.
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
