Diagnosis. L. hoenei and the next species are characterized by acute shape of forewing, grey or greybrown coloration, strongly developed wing pattern and the structure of male genitalia. L. hoenei is a dimorphic species. Adult typical (grey) form of L. hoenei ( Figs. 13, 14 View FIGURES 9 – 16 ) is recognized by its larger size, brownish-grey ground color of forewing and fully developed wing pattern. Basal line well expressed; subbasal field grey; antemedial line black with greyish suffusion inside; orbicular and reniform presented, distinct; postmedian line blackish, thin, surrounded outside by grey suffusion; subterminal line broken, expressed as curved row of diffused black streaks; terminal field brown-grey, with two diffused black streaks near apex and grey apical suffusion; terminal line developed as row of diffused black streaks; cilia bicolorous, dark-brown and whitish. Hindwing brownish-grey, darker towards margin; terminal line dark, cilia pale yellowish-grey. Light form of L. hoenei ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 9 – 16 ) differs by its contrasting wing pattern with dark-brown ground color, and with the basal, antemedial and postmedial lines surrounded by wide white bands and subterminal line with a thin white line outwards; terminal field with white apical dash bordered by black streak and two brown spots under streak and in tornal angle; orbicular and reniform distinct, white, surrounded by black line. Wingspan 27–30 mm. In male genitalia ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 29 – 32 ) uncus thin, curved apically; tegumen 1.5 times longer than vinculum; juxta not separated in lobes; valva moderately long, constricted medially; transtilla weak; costa well developed, in apical third separated from membranous valva; clasper and harpe lie in longitudinal position, along costa, basally fused with costa, clasper with elongate sclerotized basal plate, harpe long, thin, slightly longer than costa; sacculus small, well formed, clavus expressed; saccular extension as long as 2/3 of valva, flattened, rounded on apex; apical part of valva membranous, rounded, lobelike; aedeagus relatively thin, moderate, curved, vesica large, bulbous, with four small diverticula, the biggest one finely scobinated. In female genitalia ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 40 – 49 ) ovipositor short and wide, papillae anales large, quadrangular; apophyses anteriores and posteriores moderate, thin, almost equally long; antrum large and wide, funnel-like; ductus bursae short and wide, membranous, corpus bursae wide, rounded with small signum at bottom.

Distribution and biology. ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 50 – 57 ). South West China. Probably bivoltine, adults collected from mid April to mid August at elevations of 3000 to 4500 m. The larvae and foodplants are unknown.
