TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Kalimantan, "Southeast Borneo."
DISTRIBUTION: Borneo from the N. bank of the Kapuas River clockwise around the island to the E. bank of the Barito River.
COMMENT: Probably conspecific with lar (CPG) . Type locality restricted by Lyon, 1911, Proc. U.S. Nat. Mus., 40: 142.
PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I as Hylobates spp. and U.S. ESA - Endangered as Hylobates spp. (including Nomascus spp. ).
