TYPE LOCALITY: Mozambique, Quelimane .

DISTRIBUTION: S. Somalia and Kenya to Natal ( South Africa) and Angola; Zanzibar; Pemba; Mafia.

COMMENT: Probably contains more than one species; see Groves, 1974:463. Includes garnetti; but see Olson, 1979, Unpubl. Ph.D. Dissertation, Univ. London, who treated garnetti as a distinct species. See Thomas, 1917, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., 20:48 for discussion of type locality.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix II as Order Primates .

ISIS NUMBER: 5301406004006002001 as Galago crassicaudatus .
