Type species. Sisicus penifusifer Bishop & Crosby 1938
Diagnosis. Members of the genus Sisicus are distinguished from all other Linyphiidae by the combination of the following characters: prolateral macrosetae on tibia I absent; haplotracheate (see Blest 1976: fig.1a) with median tracheal trunks about as wide as laterals. Male cephalothorax rounded, clypeus with brush of setae; palp with vestigial suprategulum and large lamella charcateristica. Female with one seta on clypeus; epigynum without ventral plate scape; dorsal plate scape present; atrium large.
Composition. Sisicus penifusifer Bishop & Crosby 1938 , S. apertus (Holm 1939) and S. volutasilex n.sp. Distribution. Holarctic.
