Pacific Fanfish. To 61 cm (24 in) TL ( Miller and Lea 1972). Cosmopolitan; western Pacific Ocean north to Japan (Hatooka in Nakabo 2002); northern California (37°50’N, 125°00’W; Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Chile ( Pequeño 1989). Pelagic; depth: 0–100 m (328 ft) ( Mundy 2005).
