Thalli are compressed, dark red to vinaceous-darkened, up to 3.5 cm. Irregular branching ( Fig. 5 A, B View FIGURE 5 ). Apex obtuse or acute with prominent apical cell ( Fig. 6 A View FIGURE 6 ). Copious rhizines concentrated in medulla or within the outer medulla and inner cortex ( Fig. 6 B View FIGURE 6 ). Brush-like haptera. Tetrasporangia developed acropetally ( Fig. 6 C View FIGURE 6 ). Tetrasporangia divided decussately cruciate ( Fig. 6 D View FIGURE 6 ).
