Comments. A single difference between Xeromyia linearis ( Villeneuve, 1933) and Xeromyia orthogona ( Rohdendorf 1925) is that legs of the first species are partly dark dusted, and of the second entirely yellow. This feature is very variable in different specimens and is not used as a special criterion.
