Additional features to the original description (Marsh l.c.) – f. Body 3–3.2 mm long. Pe- nultimateflagellomere 1.1–1.3(–1.6) timesaslongasbroad (Fig. 263a–b). – Headindorsal viewtransverse, twiceasbroadaslong, eye 1.3 timeslongerthantemple, templerounded, frons-vertex-occiputfinelysubstriolated (Fig. 264). Genainlateralview 1.3 timeswider thaneye, substriolationasinFig 265a–b. Cheekinfrontalviewslightlymorerounded (i.e. Figs 257–271. 257–262. Microchelonus jamaicus sp. n. Forewing: pterostigma 2.6(–2.1) timesaslongaswide, issuing r distallyfromitsmiddle, 1– R 1 0.7–0.8 timesaslongaspterostigma (Figs 269, 273 seearrows). Carapaceindorsalviewtwiceaslongasbroadposteriorly, striatedwithmuchanastomoses, apicallytransverselysubstriolated (Fig. 274). Carapaceinlateralview 2.9 timesaslong ashighposteriorly, apicallytruncate (cf. Fig. 306).
m. Similartothefemale. Body 2.8–3.1 mmlong. Templeindorsalviewslightlyless rounded (Fig. 270). Hindfemur 2.8 timesaslongasbroadmedially (Fig. 271). Forewing: pterostigmawide, 2.1 timesaslongaswide (Fig. 273 seearrows). Apicalforamenofcara- paceelliptic, 1.4–1.5 timesaswideashigh (Fig. 275).
Host – Scrobipalpula sp. (Lep., Gelechiidae ).
Distribution – Colombia, *CostaRica, * Honduras, * Mexico.
Taxonomic position – According to the describer (Marsh l.c.) it is similar to M. kellieae (Marsh) . Inthekeytothefemale Microchelonus species M. johni runs to M. ormos sp. n., see couplets 68 (67) – 70 (69), to M. blackburni (Cameron) , see couplets 96 (99) – 98 (97) as well as to M. angustus sp. n., M. phthorimaeae (Ga- han) and M. topali Papp , seecouplets 104 (109) – 109 (104). Inthekeytothemale Microchelonus species it runs to M. kellieae (Marsh) , see couplets 45(40) – 48 (49).
