Additional features to the original description (McComb l.c.) – f. Body 2.2–2.3 mm long. Penultimate 2–3 flagellomerescubic: aslongasbroad (cf. Fig. 336). Headindorsalview twiceasbroadaslong, eyesomewhatlongerthantemple (16:14), templerounded, vertex andocciputrugulo-substriolated (Fig. 341). Scutellum (unevento) rugulose, rugose (cf. Figs 73, 372). Hindfemur 3.1 timesaslongasbroad (cf. Fig. 403). Forewing: pterostigma wide, 2–2.2 timesaslongaswideandissuing r justdistallyfromitsmiddle, r somewhat longerthan 3–SR, 1–R1 0.6–0.7 timesaslongaspterostigma (Fig. 340). Carapaceindorsal viewlessbelly, 1.7 timesaslongasbroadaboutmedially, apicalllyrounded, areolate- rugulose (Fig. 342). Legsyellow, hindtibiadistallyfaintlybrownish. Tegulabrown.

m. Similartothefemale. Body 4 mmlong. Antennawith 19 antennomeres. Penultimateflagellomere 1.3 timesaslongasbroad. Forewing: pterostigma 2.3 timesaslongas wide. Apicalforamenofcarapaceelliptic, 1.6 timesaswideashigh. Tegulayellow.

Hostunknown.

Distribution – USA: Florida, * Costa Rica.

Taxonomic position – According to the describer M. paululus stands close to M. cushmani (McComb) (McComb l.c.). In the key to the female Microchelonus species M. paululus runs to M. cavei Papp , see couplets 127 (126) – 129 (128).
