Type material. Holotype: ♂ from Fazenda São Nicolau , Cotriguaçu, Mato Grosso, Brazil (9.840°S, 58.248°W), 2–14.X.2010, A.J. Santos leg. (UFMG 7696). GoogleMaps
Etymology. The epithet, to be treated as a Latin adjective, refers to the type locality.
Diagnosis. The male of R. cotriguacuensis sp. nov. is similar to those R. tocantinensis sp. nov. and R. ruizi by having a short and wide embolus, projecting from the prolateral region of the tegulum and covered by a membranous layer ( Fig. 14C View FIGURE 14 ), but differs by the more cylindrical shape of the embolus with a small apophysis at the apical region, as well as a simple and curved RTA directed towards the posterior region of the bulb ( Fig. 14D View FIGURE 14 ).
Description. Male holotype. Total length: 2.17. Carapace and cephalic region light brown ( Fig. 13A View FIGURE 13 ); 1.21 long, 0.88 wide, 0.61 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.63; anterior eye row 0.96, posterior 0.84 wide. Chelicera, labium and endite dark brown, sternum light brown ( Fig. 13B View FIGURE 13 ). Palp yellow. Leg formula: 3412; length of legs: I 2.07 (0.63 + 0.29 + 0.50 + 0.38 + 0.27), II 1.71 (0.53 + 0.29 + 0.34 + 0.32 + 0.23), III 2.29 (0.77 + 0.29 + 0.48 + 0.48 + 0.27), IV 2.19 (0.63 + 0.29 + 0.48 + 0.52 + 0.27). Legs coloration: femora dark brown, patellae and tibiae I–II dark brown, III–IV yellow, metatarsi and tarsi yellow. Tibia I macrosetae well developed, with tips of a more proximal pair surpassing insertions of the spines of a more distal pair. Abdomen dorsally dark brown, with one pair of anterior rectangular light spots, one pair of median circular spots, and a transverse light stripe in the posterior region ( Fig. 13A View FIGURE 13 ); ventrally yellow ( Fig. 13B View FIGURE 13 ). Spinnerets yellow.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality (Mato Grosso, Brazil) ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 ).
