≡ Actinodaphne cuspidata Gamble (1910: 314) , nom. illeg. non Friedrich (1884: 279 [121]) (ICN, Art. 53.1).

Type:— MALAYSIA. Malay Peninsula, Perak, on hills near Ulu Bera, Aug 1886, King's Coll. 10797 (lectotype, here designated, K 000793058!).

Note:— Actinodaphne cuspidata Gamble (1910: 34) is in current use with no recognized synonyms ( Plant List, 2013 – onwards) and is lectotypified here by the specimen showing the key features of leaves and flowers, which was selected from two available syntypes with King’s field number 10797, preserved at the Gamble herbarium presented to Kew ( K 000793058! and K 000793059!). However, it is a later homonym of the fossil-species Actinodaphne cuspidata Friedrich (1884: 279 [121]). That name had been established to replace the later homonym Ficus cuspidata Watelet (1866: 156) , nom. illeg., a fossil-species based on the fossil leaves from the Upper Eocene (Ypresian) sediments of Belleu, Aisne, Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie, France [not Ficus cuspidata Blume (1825: 464) ]. The holotype [leaf imprint] of the fossil-species was recently re-located in the Muséum National d’histoire naturelle, Paris, France [ MNHN. F.7937, former catalogue number Watelet 208: http://fossilplants.info/names/ 0DCA7A46-88A8-4E37-B695- 4B2D064170BE].
