Current status: Sturnidoecus perunensis Ansari, 1955f .
Type host: Turdus ignobilis debilis Hellmayr.
Type locality: Moyobamba [as Meyabamba], Peru .
Type material: Holotype male [slide 56729] deposited in the USNM, from the Carriker collection. Gustafsson & Bush (2017: 441) listed a total of five paratypes (three males and two females) as deposited in OSUS (one male and one female) and in the USNM (two males and one female). However, Ansari (1955f: 64) designated only one male and two females as paratypes, in addition the the allotype female.
