Global distribution: NT.
Argentinian distribution: Buenos Aires, Jujuy, La Pampa, Mendoza.
Ecology: This species was recorded in temporary ponds and permanent environments, such as lakes and streams. It was found in wide altitude range (10–3486 m a.s.l.), with electrical conductivity values from 710 to 10500 μS/cm and alkaline waters (pH: 7.5–10.1). This species could be considered as an indicator of eutrophic to hypertrophic waters.
