Occurs widely in tropical areas of the Americas (including the Lesser Antilles), Asia, Australia and the Pacific; polyphagous, feeding on plants belonging to 13 families; pest of orchids. Recorded from Saint Lucia by Williams et al. (2006), and Malumphy (2012).
