Key to species of the Ceropales maculata -group of the West Palaearctic

a) male: genitalia as Fig. 3A ; clypeus of uniform light coloration ( Fig. 2A ).

- female: antennal segment 1 (scapus) more slender, distinctly longer than broad; tibia 3 with at most only apical edge darkened ( Fig. 1B ).................................................................................... C. pallida

b) male: genitalia as Fig. 3B ; clypeus with dark median longitudinal stripe ( Fig. 2B ).

- female: antennal segment 1 (scapus) less slender, only slightly longer than broad; tibia 3 with apical third darkened ( Fig. 1C ).......................................................................................... C. maculata
