Cercosaura sp. 3
Taxonomic remarks. Identified as Prionodactylus oshaughnessyi by Ávila-Pires (1995), Cercosaura sp. 3 is being described by T. Ávila-Pires.
Distribution and habitat. Cercosaura sp. 3 is endemic to northern Amazonia (eastern portion of the Guiana region), with its western distribution delimited by the Maroni and Jari rivers, occurring in Brazil and French Guiana ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ). In Brazil, it is only known from the state of Amapá. Cercosaura sp. 3 is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits dense terra firme and flooded forests, where it is usually found among leaf litter, occasionally among grasses or on logs (Gasc 1981; Hoogmoed & Ávila-Pires 1989—both referred to as Prionodactylus argulus ; Lima 2008—referred to as Prionodactylus sp.).
