Material examined: 5 ex. Siju Cave (from 5-10 m inside the Cave), Siju village, South Garo Hills District , Meghalaya, 25 o 21.061’N, 90 o 41.006’E, 119m, 12.xii.2018, coll. I. J. Kharkongor & party, Reg. No. IV /CRU/ERS-536 ; 1 ex. Siju Cave, Siju village, South Garo Hills District , Meghalaya, 25 o 21’03.72”N, 90 o 40’59.57”E, 70m, 24.ix.2018, D. Khynriam & party, Reg. No.IV /CRU/ERS-543 .

Remarks: Macrobrachium assamense assamense is widely distributed in Meghalaya, especially in the lower altitude streams and rivers. This species is scarce inside the Siju Cave though it is abundant in the Do·bak khol stream that flows down from the Cave to join the Simsang River. This species is recorded for the first time from Siju Cave.
