Habit: shrub or small tree (4–20 m).

Habitat: on diverse types of forests, like moist, monsoon and secondary forests, on pastures, limestone escarpments and rocky calcareous soils, 400-600 m elevation.

Distribution: Indian Ocean ( Comoros, Seychelles), Peninsular Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, New Guinea, northern Australia to the Pacific Islands.

Notes: The broad taxonomic concept currently applied to this species suggests that a much narrower concept would be more useful ( Conn and Damas 2019). Additional research is required to understand the taxonomy of this genus.
