Material. 5 specimens (5 C).
Diagnosis. Becker (1968, p. 558).
Description. Small, slightly preplete carapace. Overlap of the larger LV over the RV on the whole outline, more pronounced ventrally. Hmax at 1/3 posterior; Lmax slightly dorsal; Wmax about at mid-dorsal. Straight hinge line and dorsal margin. Cardinal angles of about 120°. Well rounded and regularly convex free margins. Anterior part of the carapace slightly higher than the posterior one. Long sulcus in the posterior part of both valves, extending from the dorsal to the ventral margins. Marked adductorial sulcus at mid-dorsal and slightly anterior. Two lobes, framing the adductorial sulcus, merged into an oblique shoulder projecting over the dorsal margin. Surface very finely reticulated.
Discussion. The two lobes merged in an oblique shoulder over the dorsal margin are a feature of this typical Givetian species, also characterized by its small-size.
Occurrence. Lower and Middle Givetian (Névremont, Terres d’Haurs and Mont d’Haurs Fms, and Fromelennes Fm, Flohimont Member), Ardenne (Flohimont, Cul d’Houille, Aisemont and Aisne sections), Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mb C), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section); Givetian, Boulonnais, Eifel and Poland.
