Colouration and structure as described by Distant (1918). Crown of vertex more than 1.5 times as broad between eyes as medially long. Pronotum more than twice as long as crown.
Female genitalia. Seventh sternite longer medially than sixth, lateral angles of posterior margin rounded, posterior margin medially produced with median concavity, lateral margins of concavity smoothly rounded, area adjacent to median projection concave
Measurement. Female 6.4 mm long, head 2.64 mm wide across eyes, 3.04 mm across pronotum.
Material examined. INDIA: Lectotype ♀ (here designated), ‘ Type H. T’, ‘ Penthimia badia Distant , type’ ‘72 8 CB 6.13 [on reverse of specimen mount]’, ‘ Chikkaballapura, S. India, T. V. Campbell’. ‘ S. India, E.A. Butler, 1915 60’ ( BMNH).
Remarks. This species was described from an unknown number of specimens (syntypic) with the following data: ‘South India; Chikkaballapura (T.V. Campbell)’. It is known only from the female lectotype and can be distinguished by the smoothly rounded lateral angles of the median projection of the posterior margin and the eighth tergite extending posteriorly to 0.75 length of the pygofer posteriorly.
