Colouration and structure as described by Distant (1918).
Female genitalia. Seventh sternite longer medially than sixth, lateral angles of posterior margin rounded, posterior margin medially produced with median concavity, lateral margins of concavity pointed, area adjacent to median projection concave, median projection shorter than lateral rounded angles. Eighth tergite in ventral view extending to 0.75 length of pygofer lobe and as wide as pygofer lobe,
Material examined. SRI LANKA: Lectotype ♀ (here designated), ‘ Type H. T’ ‘ Penthimia vittatifrons’ Dist. type’ Maha Illupalama, Ceylon, vi.1912, J. C. F. Fryer’ ‘ Ceylon, J. C. F. Fryer 1914 3 . Paralectotype ♀, ‘ Peradeniya, Ceylon, A.R. 13.ii.14 ’ ‘ Distant Coll. 1911 383’ ( BMNH) .
Remarks. This species was described from an unknown number of specimens (syntypic) with the following data: ‘ Ceylon; Maha Illupalama (J.C.F. Fryer), Peradeniya (E.E. Green)’. It can be readily distinguished by its reddish brown colour.
