Material
Holotype male. From Sanchahe Cave (25 ◦ 32 ′ N, 107 ◦ 42 ′ E, 877 m asl), Jialiang town, Libo county , Guizhou Province, 14 February 2002. GoogleMaps

Diagnosis
The new species is distinguished from other species by male with a long tubiform apophysis on ocular area ( Figures 19C View Figure 19 , 20E View Figure 20 ); the median apophysis (M) palm-shaped ( Figures 19A,B View Figure 19 , 25G View Figure 25 ).
Description
Male holotype. Total length 1.89. Carapace smooth, 0.77 long, 0.71 wide, height at fovea 0.79 times carapace width, yellowish; thoracic fovea brown, needle-shaped ( Figure 20B View Figure 20 ). Clypeus 0.21 high, yellowish. Chelicerae 0.39 long, yellowish, with eight teeth on promargin and four denticles on retromargin; seven short setae on base ( Figure 19D View Figure 19 ). Completely eyeless, a long tubiform apophysis on ocular area, one setae behind the apophysis ( Figure 19C View Figure 19 , 20E View Figure 20 ). Sternum 0.58 long, 0.58 wide, haired; labium 0.15 long, 0.15 wide, yellowish.
Leg measurements (femur + patella + tibia + metatarsus + tarsus = total): I: 2.04 + 0.31 + lack + lack + lack =?; II: 1.79 + 0.31 + 1.73 + 1.53 + lack =?; III: 1.53 + 0.31 + 1.53 + 1.33 + 0.87 = 5.56; IV: 1.84 + 0.31 + 1.94 + 1.73 + 1.07 = 6.89. Leg yellowish, tibia II with rows of fine hairs on ventral surface; preening comb occurs ventroapically on the metatarsus of leg II and III.
Palpal coxae 0.39 long, 0.15 wide. Palpal measurements (femur + patella + tibia + tarsus = total): 0.61 + 0.26 + 0.22 + 0.39 = 1.47; tibia less than patella, 0.85 times patella. Palpal tibia with three dorsally trichobothria ( Figure 19B View Figure 19 ); five ventral spines at TBS stout, forked at apex; prominent at base of tibia of which TBS arise from the apophysis ( Figure 19A,B View Figure 19 ). Tarsus dwindles distally, with relatively shallow AC in middle part, RA in adjacent apical part in retrolateral; retrolateral side with two rows of short setae on RA and one row at base part of tarsus; a group long setae at apical part ( Figure 19B View Figure 19 ). Bulb suboval, PL shuttle-shaped ( Figure 19A View Figure 19 ); M slanted, palmshaped, with seven teeth distally ( Figures 19A,B View Figure 19 , 25G View Figure 25 ); PF transparent, tongue-like ( Figure 19A,B View Figure 19 ).
Abdomen creamy yellow, without markings, rare hair, 0.97 long, 0.77 wide.
Female paratype. Total length 2.04. Carapace smooth, 0.87 long, 0.77 wide, height at fovea 0.80 times carapace width, yellowish; thoracic fovea brown, needle-shaped ( Figure 20D,F View Figure 20 ). Clypeus 0.22 high, yellowish. Chelicerae 0.44 long, yellowish, with nine teeth on promargin of fang furrow and four denticles on retromargin; six short setae on base ( Figure 19E View Figure 19 ). Eyeless only ALEMs, PLEMs and PMENs remain blurry on ocular area ( Figure 20F View Figure 20 ). Sternum 0.57 long, 0.58 wide, haired; labium 0.09 long, 0.19 wide, yellowish.
Leg formula: 1423. Leg measurements (femur + patella + tibia + metatarsus + tarsus = total): I: 1.94 + 0.36 + 1.99 + 1.68 + 1.17 = 7.14; II: 1.63 + 0.36 + 1.68 + 1.38 + 0.97 = 6.02; III: 1.48 + 0.31 + 1.38 + 1.48 + 0.82 = 5.46; IV: 1.79 + 0.31 + 1.84 + 1.53 + 1.02 = 6.48. Leg yellowish, preening comb occurs ventroapically on the metatarsus of leg II and III.
Palpal coxae 0.36 long, 0.19 wide. Palpal measurements (femur + patella + tibia + tarsus = total): 0.58 + 0.21 + 0.36 + 0.59 = 1.74.
Abdomen creamy yellow, without markings, rare hair, 1.22 long, 1.07 wide. Epigynal plate rugby-ball-shaped, simple ( Figure 19F View Figure 19 ); internal genitalia with a pair of spermathecae, coiled sperm duct, broadly triangular atrium ( Figure 19G View Figure 19 ).
Distribution
The species is known only from the type locality ( Figure 2 View Figure 2 ).
Etymology
The specific name comes from Latin “ palmata ” meaning “palm-shaped”, referring to the median apophysis (M) palm-shaped.
Level of cave adaptation
This species lives entirely in the twilight zone of caves and has no functioning eyes and no pigmentation. Troglobitic species.
Natural history
Small spider generally restricted to moist karst caves. Spiders were found from the completely twilight zone with relatively high humidity. Entrance of the cave is very high, about 15 m in diameter. Cave is bigger inside, about 20–30 m high and 40–50 m wide, only a hall, with numerous large, stalagmites. The web of the spider is a woven sheet about 10 cm in diameter, between stalagmites.
