Profile of vertex with marked constriction immediately behind eye. Ventral surface of head in front of gular region markedly sculptured; with deep median furrow, anteriorly with sparse deep punctures becoming denser near eye, posteriorly with transverse wrinkles. Rostrum 1.96 X as long as mouthparts; at widest point 1.51 X wider than at base; in profile dorsal contour above antennal insertion with weak rounded prominence, anteriorly in sinuate line to apex; ventral contour continuous with head, in sinuate line to apex; ventrally on submentum subglabrous, with few short suberect setae. Mouthparts. Prementum [described from different specimen] at base 1.6 X wider than long, ca. 3.0 X wider than at apex; with straight lateral margins converging apicad; apical processes subangulate, of equal length, median apical process retracted into more dorsal position. Antenna slender, as in Fig. 70 View FIGURES 56–72 . Prothorax 1.01 X as long as wide; preapical constriction shallow; disc evenly convex, shining, impunctate; sides with dense, deep punctures. Metanotum laterally rooflike extended and subangularly projecting, but without distinct lateral lobes. Elytron 2.36 X longer than wide; striae weakly impressed. Thoracic venter. Height of pterothorax 0.77 X length of elytron. Procoxa in anterior aspect 1.20 X as long as wide. Legs. Profemur subsymmetrically clavate, moderately swollen, thickest at 0.32 of length from apex, at base with indistinct stalk. Protibia evenly weakly curved ventrad; ventral contour parallel to dorsal contour. Mesotibia dorsally before apex with subangulate lobe, its apical edge leading obliquely towards uncus; overall shape of tibia subtriangular. Mesotarsus straight, 2.9 X as long as wide. Metatibia of similar size as mesotibia. Abdomen. Ventral contour anteriorly weakly concave in lateral view, sternite VI projecting bluntly angulate, with marked constriction between sternite VI and VII. Ventral surface of sternite III subglabrous, sternites IV–VI laterally with sparse subrecumbent setae, medially subglabrous; sternite VI with median swelling in front of posterior margin. Pygidium as long as wide (1.00 X); at extreme base microreticulate, remainder shining; in basal half, especially laterally, densely and deeply punctate, medially and towards apex punctures shallower and sparser. Genitalia. Apex of tergite VIII curved in evenly convex line. Sternite VIII as in Fig. 182 View FIGURES 170–186 . Tegminal plate ( Fig. 122 View FIGURES 119–130 ) with sides moderately converging apicad; apical edge subtruncate, densely setose with short setae. Aedeagus. Apical scoop of pedon ( Fig. 159 View FIGURES 148–159 ) ca. 1.52 X as long as wide, with lateral margins converging in straight line; apex subangulate. Tectum as in Fig. 142 View FIGURES 136–147 ; lateral frame converging with sinuate sides to pointed apex; subapically without extensions. TA as in Fig. 94 View FIGURES 94–97 ; apex of frame wider than base; transfer processes basally articulated inside of frame of TA, approximately reaching frame´s apex; base of transfer processes within basal half of frame; without distinct dorsal plate; internal support structures of ductus ejaculatorius long, passing midlevel of basal sclerites; basal sclerites ca. 0.34 X of total length of TA. Cuticle of endophallus in apical 0.50 (of total length of aedeagus) with dense, subtriangular denticles; in mid portion with pair of folded sclerites; between these sclerites with few denticles such as the ones in apical portion ( Fig. 110 View FIGURES 110–118 ).

Nomenclatural note

Voss (1956) did not designate a holotype in the original description, nor did he make a statement about the number of specimens examined. One syntype could be located, but additional ones may exist. To ensure stability of nomenclature a lectotype is designated herein.
