Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the frons, clypeus and gena without spots, the vertex with reddish triangular markings, the scape with small tubercle on the outer side, the wings without shadings, and the median arch of male gonarcus with short wide projections.
Description. Male. Body length 15.5–16.3 mm, forewing length 20.5–22.0 mm, hindwing length 18.0–19.0 mm.
Head broad, with reddish triangular markings on vertex. Compound eyes prominent and black.Antennae yellow, scape wide and with small tubercle on outer side, scape wider than pedicel and flagellum. Frons, clypeus and gena without spots. Maxillary and labial palpi brownish yellow.

Legs with dense setae and without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing broad, without shadings. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 34–35 crossveins; 21–22 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2; im triangular; 15–16 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc closed. Gradates in four rows, basal crossvein of inner gradate series not meeting Psm.
Hindwing without shadings. Pterostigma pale. Costal area with 28 crossveins; 21 radial crossveins and 15 crossveins between Psm and Psc. Gradates in four rows, basal crossvein of inner gradate series not meeting Psm.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII and sternum VIII about half length of tergum VII; sternum IX elongated; tergum IX fused with ectoproct, concaved at middle. Material. Holotype of T. hui : ♂, China, Xizang, Shigatse, Nyalam, Zham , 1979.VIII.17, Shengchang Hu ( CAU). 1♂, China, Xizang, Shigatse , Nyalam , Zham , 2200 m, 2020.VII.29, Yuchen Zheng ( CAU); 1♂, China, Xizang, Shigatse , Nyalam , Zham , Yingbing Road , 1900 m, 2020.VII.30, Yuchen Zheng ( CAU).
Distribution. China (Xizang); Nepal (Seti District).
Remarks. We re-examined the holotype of Tumeochrysa hui Yang, 1987 and found that its morphological characters correspond exactly to the original description of T. praeclara ( Hölzel, 1973) , especially the scape with small tubercle on the outer side, and the male gonarcus with short and wide projections. Hence, we treat T. hui as a junior synonym of T. praeclara .
