Holotype, male, BRAZIL: Maturaca, AM ‘alto Rio Cauaburi’, 28.xii.62 – 5.i.63. [J. Bechyn col.] ( MZSP).

Diagnosis. Elytra with 3 longitudinal costae, costa 3 entirely absent, dark brown. Phallus with distal half curved dorsally, teary orifice occupying distal ½ of phallus. Phallus as wide as half of phallobase in ventral view. Paramerae as long as half of phallus.

Description. Interocular distance 1.3 times longer than eye diameter. Antennomere 3 as long as half of 4 ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 10 – 19 ). Mandibles reduced, almost hooked, maxillary palpi elongate, pointed, palpomere 2 as long as 3 and 4 together, palpomere 3 short. Prosternum triangular, narrow distally. Pronotum trapezoidal, 1.4 times wider than pronotal length medially, with simple carina in anterior half and longitudinal groove in posterior half, dark brown, anterior half with yellow macula in both lateral margins. Anterior thoracic spiracles not visible. Elytra elongate, entirely dark brown, each elytron with 3 longitudinal costae, costa 3 absent, reticulate cells irregular, at most rectangular. Abdominal sternum 8 with triangular emargination distally. Sternum 9 elongate, rounded proximally, triangular distally. Phallus with distal half curved dorsally, rounded apically, narrower than paramerae and half of phallobase width in ventral view, teary orifice in distal two thirds of phallus. Paramerae as long as half of phallus ( Figs. 41–43 View FIGURES 38 – 52 ). Body length: 6.5 mm, humeral width: 1.6 mm.

Etymology: the name refers to the species occurrence site.

Distribution: Brazil, North region, Amazonas state.
