Range: — Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia (CO, LP).

Ecology: —Uncommon; saxicolous and epiphytic in humid forests; 2400–3000 m.

Notes: —Differs from S. latipes by the larger, concolorous rhizome scales and from S. gilliesii by the darker rhizome scales with more elongate cells, longer-creeping rhizomes, larger size, falcate pinnae, and flat blades (vs. usually longitudinally folded in S. gilliesii ).
