Gekkomimus gen. nov.
Diagnosis. As for the type species.
Etymology. From the latin ‘ mimus ’, meaning imitator, and ‘gekko’, derived from the Malay word ‘gekoq’, onomatopoeic of the call of the Tokay ( Gekko gecko ), see also de Silva & Bauer (2008) for an alternative Sri Lankan origin of the word gecko . The name makes allusion to the original placement of the specimen within the Gekkota. The name is masculine.
Type and only known species. Gekkomimus rugosus , new combination.
