T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: French Guiana , 13 km W of Risquetout, 8-VI-2005, J. E. Eger & M. T. Messenger, MV light, NO4°54.028'WO 52°34.494'( FSCA) . Paratypes: 2 specimens. FRENCH GUIANA: Commune de Roura ; Kaw Rd. , Pk 37, 17-18-VIII-1985, J. E. Wappes ( ACMT, 1) ; Commune de Kourou ; Pariacabo , 1906, E. Le Moult ( MNHN, 1) .

D i a g n o s i s: Cranium and prothorax red; elytra mostly black, each elytron with large yellow fascia; legs mostly red.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 6.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 48 View Figs 45-48 . Head: (EW/FW 22/50). Thorax: Subapical depression well defined; pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW-110/110); (EL/EW 240/60). Abdomen: Aedeagus (Fig. 100).

E t y m o l o g y: The species name, pictilis, is a Latin word with the meaning of "colored".
