T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Brazil, Vila Velha, Paraná, 12-I-1969, L. & C. W., O’Brien ( WOPC).
D i a g n o s i s: Antennae and legs testaceous; cranium black; pronotal proper red, pronotal arch black; elytra with three yellow markings; elytral apex setose, elytra particularly roughly sculptured.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 5.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 59 View Figs 57-60 . Head. (EW/FW 20/45). Thorax: Subapical depression well defined (PL/PW-110/110); (EL/EW 190/60). Abdomen: Female pygidium scutiform.
V a r i a t i o n: Length 5.0-7-0 mm; width 1.0- 1.2 mm. The pronotum may entirely testaceous.
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, velha, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
