Comments. Hovore (1998) showed that Costa Rican specimens that were previously considered to be this species, represent a new taxon, S. multimacula Hovore, 1998 ; and that S. polystigma does not occur in Central America.
Geographical distribution. Colombia, Venezuela.
Specimens examined. Venezuela, Aragua: Rancho Grande (1100 m), male, 9.V.1966 (J. Salcedo & A. Fernandez leg.) (MNRJ).
