Diagnosis. Brachycyrtus muesebecki can be differentiated from other Neotropical Brachycyrtus by the combination of the following characters: metanotum with spot black; propodeum with the posteroexterna and area dentipara confluent, posterior transverse carina absent.

Male. Unknown.

Geographical records. Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Paraná) ( Walkley 1956; Yu et al. 2016; Fernandes et al. 2023) ( Fig. 37 View FIGURE 37 ).

Biological note. The host of this species is so far unknown.

Discussion. Brachycyrtus muesebecki is morphologically similar to B. obelix , ocelli forming an equilateral triangle, clypeus 2.0 ×as wide as it is long, truncated apically. In B. obelix metanotum without spot, propodeum with the posteroexterna and area dentipara separated, posterior transverse carina present lateromedially. In contrast, in B. muesebecki metanotum with spot black, propodeum with the posteroexterna and area dentipara confluent, and posterior transverse carina absent.
