o Hulley (1981): …found between the Subtropical Convergence and the Antarctic Convergence in the Atlantic … A subantarctic or west wind drift distribution pattern is confirmed by Walther Herwig data. In pelagic hauls in the western South Atlantic, Gymnoscopelus piabilis was recorded between 35°16'S and 51°14'S, and in bottom trawls (345-1250 m) was taken between 34°01'S and 52°02'S in this region .
