Imago (fig. 33): Wingspan 15 mm. Head and appendages whitish, palpi porrect, maxillary palpus half diameter of eye, labial palpus a little longer than diameter of eye. Thorax and tegulae whitish with scattered dark brown scales. Forewing ochreous white with scattered dark brown scales, an irregular metallic fascia from 2/5 on costa, a double discal spot beyond, a second similar fascia from ⅔ on costa, some black scales on costa before apex, a row of subterminal blackish spots, terminal line dark brown, termen a little sinuate beneath apex, fringe shining fuscous. Hindwing whitish, five or six black dots on termen, fringe whitish. Legs whitish with scattered dark brown scales.
Male genitalia (fig. 70): Uncus evenly tapered, apex rounded, gnathos just shorter than uncus, valva slender, narrowing slightly towards apex, a very small raised process on ventral surface immediately before apex, vinculum bulbous. Aedeagus a little longer than valva, slightly broader towards base, cornutus comprising a serrate bar about ¼ length of aedeagus.
Female genitalia: not examined.
Diagnosis: Distinguished from other species in the genus by its pale colour and metallic markings, in the male genitalia by the shape of the valva.
Life history: not known.
Derivation: named after Dr Koen Maes who found the species.
Distribution: Only known from the type locality in Kenya.
