Platytes impar Warren & Rothschild, 1905: 25 , Pl. 4 fig. 8.
Imago (fig. 35): Wingspan 13–16 mm. Head and appendages pale buff, maxillary palpus short, labial palpus just greater than diameter of eye. Thorax and tegulae pale buff. Forewing ground colour pale buff, finely suffused darker scales especially in basal half of wing, irregular median fascia; second fascia similar, suffused dark fuscous beyond second fascia, subterminal row of dark fuscous spots. Hindwing pale fuscous, weak terminal spots.
Male genitalia: not examined.
Female genitalia: not examined.
Diagnosis: Distinguished by the pale median area of the forewing strongly contrasted with the fascias.
Life history; not known.
Distribution; Sudan.
Type material: Holotype ♀ [ SUDAN] Nakheila, R. Atbara 5.ii.1904 ( NHMUK)
Paratype ♀ same data as holotype, 7.ii.1904 .
Other material examined: 1 specimen without abdomen, 5.ii.1904 ,, 1♀ same locality 31.i.1904, 1♀ Hudeiba 29.x.1966 CIE collection (abdomen glued on).
