Ptychopseustis suffusalis sp. n.
Imago (fig. 47): Wingspan 9–11 mm. Head and appendages pale brown, maxillary palpus half diameter of eye, labial palpus> diameter of eye. Thorax and tegulae pale brown. Forewing heavily suffused fuscous, a poorly defined irregular antemedian fascia, a second irregular fascia sharply angled to costa before ¾, dark spots along termen. HIndwing fuscous. Hind leg thickened with scales on femur.
Male genitalia (fig. 80): Uncus tapered to blunt apex, gnathos almost as long as uncus; valva broader near base, raised ventral process just before apex which is very weak; vinculum with a pair of specialised setae, about four in each side bent before apex. Aedeagus straight, cornutus a serrate bar about 1/5 length of aedeagus.
Female genitalia (fig. 108): Ductus widening before corpus bursae, sclerotisation at junction with ductus, corpus bursae with a sclerotised scobinate patch, a bulla on the side. (Ovipositor missing from specimen dissected).
Diagnosis: Distinguished from others in the genus by the heavily suffused ground colour of the forewing and characters of the genitalia.
Life history: Not known.
Derivation: from the colouration of the forewing.
Distribution: Madagascar.
