Remarks. The b-rhabdoids (3)1 from tentacles are distinct from those observed in dendrophylliids with respect to their longer shaft and flattened ends of the capsule. The shaft length of p-rhabdoids D (from the base of the shaft to the end of the two tips of the v-notch) of tentacles continuously varied from 1/3 to 1/2 of the undischarged capsule length, thus for convenience we considered them as p-rhabdoids D (1–2). Holotrichs I and p-rhabdoids D (2) from mesenterial filaments showed the wider range of length in comparison to other species examined, and were not distinguishable in two size classes. A variety of b-rhabdoid similar to b-rhabdoid (1) was observed in mesenterial filaments (b-rhabdoid2: fig. 1K).
